About Us

Honouring Ivy
Ivy was found in a truck at just 5 weeks old when we rescued her. Like all animals at our sanctuary, she knew what it was like to be neglected and saved. She became a vital part of our rescue family, joining vet trips and watching over the farm animals-even getting up in the middle of the night to care for sick animals. Despite battling Lyme disease and living with lupus, she fiercely tended to the animals in our care, always putting them first. Her passing in November 2024 devastated us, and as it coincided with our name change, we felt it was the perfect way to honour her memory and the impact she made.
Mission
To give farm animals a second chance at life. We rescue, rehabilitate, and provide lifelong care to farm animals in need while fostering compassion and inspiring positive change through education and advocacy.
Values
We believe in creating a world where every farm animal is treated with compassion, respect, and dignity. Our sanctuary provides a safe haven for animals rescued from neglect, abuse, and abandonment.
Vision
A world where all animals are valued as individuals, free from harm, and able to live with dignity and respect.
Stacey and Jim
Owners of Ivy’s Wish Sanctuary
It has come full circle for both Jim and Stacey, whose parents were farmers. Over the years, they pursued a variety of careers and businesses, but life eventually led them back to the way they were raised.
Jim began helping at the sanctuary about six years ago, taking on tasks like tractor and machinery maintenance, mechanical work, and welding.
Stacey started volunteering at the sanctuary ten years ago, eventually becoming the full-time caregiver and living on-site for the past several years.
As fate would have it, their paths crossed in 2023 when our beloved Jersey cow, Norman, suffered a fall on the ice. Their bond began through the care they gave this precious boy. By the end of that year, the property housing the sanctuary was going to be sold. Determined to stay together with the only family they’ve ever known, Jim and Stacey made the life-changing decision to find a new home for everyone.
In May 2024, the big move took place—to Markdale, Ontario—where they found a property with twice the land for the animals to enjoy. Now, over a year later, despite the long and tiring days, they know it was the best decision they’ve ever made. Caring for animals rescued from heartbreaking situations and welcoming them as part of the family is both a blessing and a beautiful way to live.
Together, Jim and Stacey bring a shared drive and vision that has created harmony and positive energy—for the animals and for all who support and visit the sanctuary.

From cows and pigs, to chickens and goats, each resident at Ivy’s Wish has a unique story of resilience and hope. Here, they find love, care, and the freedom to live out their days in peace.
